Mike Dion Rides The Continental Divide

In 2008, Mike Dion set out to film one of the most grueling adventure bike races on the planet – The Tour Divide. After a month of filming and 15 more of editing, the end result is Ride The Divide: an inspiring journey about the world’s toughest mountain bike race, which traverses over 2700 miles along the Continental Divide in the Rocky Mountains.

The film weaves the story of three characters’ experiences with immense mountain beauty and small-town culture as they attempt to pedal from Banff, Canada to a small, dusty crossing on the Mexican border. The course itself climbs over 200,000 vertical feet over the Rocky Mountains. That’s the equivalent of ascending Mount Everest from sea level seven times. Nerve Rush’s own Joel Runyon sat down with Mike Di

on to get the inside scoop on the race and the behind the scenes filming they did to capture it.
